Beauty is their business

This particular pair of sisters has made beauty their business and after honing and practising their art for years, are all set to open their very own concept beauty boutique in the national capital. Passionate about what they do, both Megha and Neha Khanna hope that they will be able to give the city something unique, a place that will take care of all beauty needs while serving as a peaceful, beautiful retreat.

“Our mother had a beauty salon and, right from the beginning, we spent most of our time there seeing women get haircuts and facials. We were fascinated, and I think it was obvious that we would go down the same road,” says Megha. Her sister adds, “You know how it is... when there's a family business, and you are interested in it too, you tend to follow that path. We were both very interested in the whole concept and practice of beauty.”

New dimensions

Megha, a celebrity makeover artist, got her formal training in high definition make-up and airbrush technique from Paris and the U.S. respectively. Now one of the members of Mac Pro team, she has worked with some of the renowned make-up artists and legends of this industry. A master in her field, Megha has given the whole concept of makeover a new dimension and is also known as a Makeup Designer. “I was pretty good at art and played with colours and brushes and drawings when I was young. I think I didn't even realise when this hobby translated to what I do for a living. I've combined the two things I like best: Beauty and Art,” she says.

Megha also worked as a business and medium between companies from the U.S. and the U.K., outsourcing business to India. Another feather in her cap is her work as Director, International Sales, for one of the largest publishers in the world, Scholastic Inc. For Megha, the very idea of make up is to enhance and define facial assets while keeping to the bare minimum. “Everyone is beautiful; make-up only makes you see just how much.”

While Megha found her niche in the make up industry, Neha is a trained and certified aesthetician, the skin care guru who is equally passionate about her work. She has trained with high-end brands from the U.K., Canada, Germany and France, and worked with Urban Retreats, one of the finest salons in London. Neha also owned a clinic in London's Knightsbridge and her client list included names like Geri Hanawal and Jade Jagger.
