The 2012 Mazda5 should be a formidable presence at the 2012 Canadian Car of the Year Awards -if the judges can figure out in what category to put it.

Should it compete for best new small car? Best new family car? It could, but the Mazda5 isn't really a car. Well then, what about best new SUV/CUV? Maybe, but the Mazda5 isn't a crossover, either.
