Napoleon Dynamite and Xbox - a new marketing future
We live in a society that is constantly connected to the world of bits and bytes.
Whether it is through our smartphone or other digital device, we are always 'on' - creating, sharing and engaging in a social environment that last year created enough data to fill 75 billion 16GB iPads .
We are sharing so much information and becoming so interconnected with cyberspace that, as a colleague of mine describes it, we are almost part cyborg.
It's not as silly as it sounds. Globally, we upload a days' worth of content on to YouTube every minute and we are spending more time on social networks than ever before. In 2007 we sent 50,000 tweets, last year it was 50 million - and there are currently more mobile phone subscribers than toothbrushes in the world .
As our engagement with technology evolves, so do the things that make us fundamentally human. Personal relationships still remain the foundation of society but now many of these relationships are being built upon ones and zeros rather than handshakes or head nods.
The number of Facebook friends or followers on Twitter we have are the new norms for social and relationship measurement and for the more committed variety, one in five relationships are now started online. In Australia 70 percent of Aussie singles are reportedly searching for a committed relationship online across one of 250 potential dating websites.
As a result, businesses are operating in a new dynamic that requires them to take advantage of the blurring line between technology and real-life. One tactic that falls at the middle of this convergence is augmented reality or AR.
AR is a term for the view of a real-world environment where elements are enhanced by virtual computer-generated imagery or digitisation. It presents a culmination of relevant data being generated, and synthesises that data into real-life scenarios.
One of the best examples of AR is the large screens that the investigators on the TV show CSI interact with - moving around data and graphs in their effort to solve crimes.
Outside of the CSI example, many businesses are already using AR successfully. The Commonwealth Bank uses AR in a real estate app where rich data including past sales history, current property listings and recent sales is mapped on to a real world view through an iPhone's camera . USA Today also used AR for the 2011 Super Bowl, allowing consumers to experience enhanced 3D features and audio in the Dallas Cowboys stadium as an application on their smartphone .
Napolean Dynamite Sounds - News

It's not as silly as it sounds. Globally, we upload a days' worth of content on to YouTube every minute and we are spending more time on social networks than ever before. In 2007 we sent 50000 tweets, last year it was 50 million - and there are
a lot more genuine if the film's focus had been on Monica's struggle to regain custody of her daughter rather than making this subservient to the dull story of another Max Fischer/Napoleon Dynamite hybrid learning to appreciate girls his own age.

Waterfront has been the place where such films as "March of the Penguins," "Napoleon Dynamite," "Murderball," "Grizzly Man," "Winged Migration," "Man on Wire," "American Splendor," "Eagle vs. Shark" and "Open Water" had their area premieres.
To make a Napoleon Dynamite reference, "I love technology, always and forever." It's not too soon to start referencing that movie again, is it? If it will get us an Apple sponsorship or something, then yes, I love being a product of technology.
Someone's done the impossible: Make Napoleon Dynamite funny again. To your point? Maybe so. In hindsight, of course Tannehill should have replaced Jerrod Johnson earlier. But at the time? I probably would have made the switch at the same time Sherman
Languid – Sounds From My Habitat [Album] | Potholes In My Blog
After just coming across the Dene Road , here’s another UK producer named Marcus Kuzvinzwa, and he goes by the stage name of Languid. He describes himself as a “17 Year Old Zimbabwean Dood” and after seeing Odd Future and Zoo Kid become the favorite teenage musicians of 2010, it wouldn’t be surprising to see people other than myself say he’s proving that 1994 Aaliyah song title to be true in 2011.
