June always has been and will continue to be a time of challenge for many and the economy is a driving force behind it all. When the economy is good people tend to plan vacations not "staycations."

Summer folk begin to make their appearance in Vermont at about the same time tree frogs begin singing. Everyone is looking for some real relief from a long winter and June is the start of it all. June is also the green flag month for job seekers in search of pocket change for bills or to begin stockpiling cash for college in the fall.

I graduated from Bennington Catholic High School in June 1965 and joined the ranks of job hunters almost immediately. The economy of the 1960s could be described as robust but inflation and the unemployment rate continued to be a concern. There was a lot of competition among job seekers. Luckier than most graduating seniors, I already had a job at the Hotel Putnam; however, I needed something that would pay a higher wage. I jumped into the pool of job hunters a day or two after attending a senior graduation party.

Graduation night was also senior party night, and I arrived at one such party at the home of Josephine "Jo" Henry on Washington Street. I enjoyed the party and visited with friends but I didn’t stay very long. There were a few other parties that night so thought I would touch base with as many as possible and reconnect one last time before we all became distracted with reality and the working world that our parents kept reminding us of on a daily basis. I made my way to my car with another destination in mind while, at the same moment, Father Vincent J. Spinelli, principal of BCHS, pulled to the curb, arriving unannounced.

We greeted one another on the sidewalk, me leaving, him arriving. Images of past encounters flashed through my mind, but this meeting was pleasant and we talked briefly about my immediate and future plans. It seems this was one of those rare times that we left one another’s company with both of us smiling.

Little did I know that this would be the last time I would see Father Spinelli and "Jo," both of whom were destined meet an untimely and tragic end.

The day following the senior party, I asked my Dad, who was working the second shift at the Ben Mont Paper Mill, if there were any openings. He said he would talk to one of the foremen about getting me a job but couldn’t make any promises.

Click Start, and then click Control Panel.

5 Follow the instructions to uninstall Avast! 4 Home Edition.

6 When uninstallation is complete, restart your computer.

Avast! 4 Home Edition with the two previous methods, such as Avast! 4 Home Edition is not installed properly or the remains of many of the installation settings and associated registry entries remain. Those directions are connected to do damage to your computer if you do not get it done.
